vintage tobacco ads

Ok so I definitely don't agree with these ads (especially not the 'blow in her face and she'll follow you anywhere... what the?!) but I do think these are very beautiful ads. See a whole lot more over at well medicated.

Wow check out these pictures I found on Ephemeral New York. I love the old typography in the signage, and the donkey rides in Central Park... absolutely brilliant!

How cool are these suitcases??! Imagine all the amazing places they have been... back in the 1920s they were used to transport Alexander Calder's 'Circus', right now their home is at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

old school bacardi

I've been doing quite a bit of design work for Bacardi at work at the moment so I have engrossed myself in research about the brand. The other day I came across some old ads on Flickr. They're from the 1960's (as you can probably tell in the first ad from the hairstyles and clothes...!) Pretty retro, love it.
